Hope presented by the Greenwich Village Orchestra
Our season finale looks ahead with the kind of hope and optimism born of struggle. Associate Conductor Eric Mahl leads the US premiere of Clarice Assad’s rhapsodic and uplifting Saravá, a tribute to Brazilian poet, singer-songwriter, and diplomat Vinicius de Moraes. Flutist Brandon Patrick George, celebrated soloist and member of the Imani Winds, performs two works, spanning two centuries, highlighting the extraordinary range of the instrument. The program concludes with Jean Sibelius’ Symphony No. 2, a transcendent piece radiating resilience, strength, and survival.

'Mirrors'
Join internationally celebrated cellist, singer and composer Anthime Miller for an adventurous and reflective evening of cello - featuring an new, abridged version of their piece WELLSPRING, first premiered in 2016 at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, and a brand new piece of composer and accompanist Jake Landau - "Narcissus and Echo", featuring special guest singer/violist Alexia DelGiudice Bigari.
These original pieces will be paired with some lesser known but equally exquisite classics - Antonio Vivaldi's B Flat Cello Sonata RV 46, Landau's own arrangement of the exquisite Notturno by Ottorino Resphigi and more!

GLASS TOWN
A rock requiem starring the Brontë siblings -- Anne, most feminist and most faithful, a neosoul star; Emily, melancholy alt-rock prodigy; Branwell, full of the blues; and Charlotte, fiery frontwoman, desperate for recognition and love. A staged concept album that defies traditional musical theatre, Glass Town explores familial bonds, grief, and isolation, using the literary family as archetypal touchstones.

Energy presented by The Greenwich Village Orchestra
With the arrival of spring, the energy of renewal and regeneration is in the air. The program opens with Prokofiev’s folk-like and rhapsodic Overture on Hebrew Themes. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 is expansive in scope, a work full of conflict between powerful fanfares and hauntingly beautiful melodies, which finds resolution in a finale of limitless possibility and triumph.
